The useful answer first.
What sits behind the quick answer.
Shellfish and some fish are common targets on gout food lists. The NHS does advise against having too much seafood, but that still leaves room for context rather than panic.
Not every seafood meal equals a flare
Risk is probabilistic, not a switch. A person’s urate level, treatment, portion, alcohol intake, hydration and individual history can all sit around the meal.
Use tracking intelligently
If seafood repeatedly appears before your own flares, that is useful information to record and discuss. It is not proof that everybody with gout must avoid every prawn.

How to use this without overthinking it.
Keep the boundaries clear.
GoutSense separates general evidence from individual medical advice. Food and lifestyle context can be useful, but it does not diagnose gout and should not be used to start, stop or alter prescribed medication.
