Verdict: Insufficient evidence for a specific diet.

NICE says there is not enough evidence to show that any specific diet prevents gout flares or lowers serum urate and advises a healthy balanced diet. That does not mean food is irrelevant; it means highly restrictive branded “gout diets” deserve scrutiny.
