Observational studies have explored coffee consumption and gout risk, but NICE does not recommend coffee as gout therapy. If you enjoy coffee, current UK gout guidance does not require you to stop it solely because of gout.

A plain coffee and a large sugar-heavy coffee drink are not nutritionally identical. Context matters.
